Compañía Pepa Molina is proud to announce the world premiere of Strike a Chord as part of Sydney Fringe Festival 2026, taking place 16–19 September at Eternity Playhouse, Darlinghurst.
Created by acclaimed choreographer Pepa Molina with an original score by guitarist and composer Marco Van Doornum, Strike a Chord is an exciting new contemporary Flamenco production that places the dialogue between guitar and dance at the heart of the performance.

Strike a Chord explores the powerful exchange between live music and movement, where every footstep inspires a chord, every rhythm sparks a response, and guitar and dance become equal partners in an intimate yet electrifying conversation.
Stripping Flamenco back to two of its most essential elements—guitar and dance—the work reveals the emotional intensity, spontaneity and connection that define this extraordinary art form.
A New Australian Flamenco Work
Performed by Las Flamenkas, Compañía Pepa Molina’s emerging ensemble, the production brings together outstanding young artists alongside established professionals in a work that honours Flamenco’s rich traditions while confidently expanding its contemporary possibilities.
